HSE updates COVID-19 training guidance - 23 February 2021

The HSE has published guidance around the temporary omission of rescue breaths from first aid training while coronavirus transmission rates are very high.

In essence, it gives training providers the option to omit practical teaching and assessment of rescue breaths as part of CPR training on most First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work courses.

However, rescue breaths must continue to be practically demonstrated and assessed in training courses leading to paediatric first aid qualifications.
